Video is the trend of online marketing, if you're doing any type of marketing online you cannot ignore video. This article shows you how you can use video to target and dominate a keyword to rank high on the search engines.

With your video at the top of the search engines your web traffic will soar. Video stands out in the search results, and can get a high clickthrough rate, even if it isn't in the number one position. The following three methods can ensure that the search results are dominated by your video.

1. Make Sure You Have the Right Keywords

The first thing you will need to do is target the correct keywords. Make sure that you choose keywords that have a high search volume, but not too many competing pages in the search results. Another important part of choosing the right keywords is identifying ones that have other videos that are already ranking. Having this information will ensure that you will know how much work needs doing to ensure your video out ranks the competition. Do your research into videos that come up in your keyword search, so that you will know what you are up against.

- Analyze the title and description of the video to see what keywords it uses.

- How many views and/or comments does it have?

- See how many backlinks the video has, and from which kinds of sites (and the page ranking of those sites) .

You can easily use things like social bookmarking, article marketing, blog commenting and both backlink services and blog networks in order to get your backlinks to other pages.

One advantage of building backlinks to videos is the fact that you can build as many as you wish, as quick as you want, without being 'penalized'. Giants like YouTube.com already have overwhelming numbers of links pointing to them, so you won't raise any red flags with search engines by doing this. This gives you more opportunity to use services like Unique Article Wizard or any other submission service that can generate dozens or even hundreds of links in a short period of time.

3. About Syndication and RSS Submission

Most video sharing sites generate RSS feeds for your videos automatically. You can submit the video feeds generated by using software along the lines of RSS Submit or RSSBot, or you can manually submit them. There are two advantages to this.

Firstly, by doing this, each aggregator will generate links that will point back to your video and increase your backlink numbers. The second advantage is that your feed could very possibly be picked up by site creators that use targeted feeds to generate their content. More backlinks to your videos will be generated by doing this.

Making your video dominate the search results for your keyword phrase is going to take a bit of work, but it's not complicated. And once you see the resulting traffic, you'll be glad you put in that little extra bit of effort.
